Following post-race technical checks, the two Williams and the two Toyota were disqualified. Air ducts for the purpose of cooling the front brakes did not comply with regulations.Ralf Schumacher had finished second, Juan Pablo Montoya fifth, Cristiano da Matta eighth and Olivier Panis tenth.
