Jordan seeks Yorkshire podium

Sutton Coldfield youngster Andrew Jordan will head to Yorkshire for round five of the British Junior Rallycross Championship at the Croft circuit on Sunday (20 June). After the first four events on the schedule, Andrew is lying third in the points standings even though, at only 14 years old, he is younger than most of his major rivals.Following the most recent round in late May at the Knockhill circuit in Scotland, Andrew has established himself as one of the title contenders, although many of the circuits he goes to presents a new challenge. Many of his rivals, who are mostly aged 15 and 16, have at least a year of experience behind them, but Andrew only started racing at the end of 2003. Fortunately, Croft is one of the few circuits he has been to before, having won there in the recent Junior Winter Series. For the first time in his rallycross career, Andrew will be racing without the immediate support of his father Mike. For the first and only time this year, Mike is committed to be racing himself over the same weekend and is competing in the British GT Championship round at Castle Combe in Wiltshire.Fortunately, Andrew has already learnt a lot about racing from his father and will put that into practice at Croft, ably supported by an experienced engineer, while Mike keeps tabs on events in Yorkshire by mobile phone! So, for the first time ever, father and son will both be racing on the same weekend, albeit at different ends of the country. Andrew will head to Croft aiming for another podium finish in his Mini, while Mike will head to Wiltshire aiming for race wins in his Porsche 911GT3RSR!
