Brown makes British GT debut

Michelin Porsche Open front runner Tony Brown made his British GT debut at Castle Combe over the weekend (19/20 June) when he teamed up with former Porsche Club Championship rival Colin Broster.Brown and Broster raced the Porsche 911GT3 Cup car to a brace of top six finishes in the GT Cup category despite a high-speed spin for Brown on Sunday. He spun on the exit of Camp Corner soon after starting his stint and slithered deep into the field of crops opposite the pits. "At least I should get on TV for that," he joked after the race, having got the car back out of the field without damage. The pair is racing the 911GT3 Cup car that Mark Cole raced on his way to the 2002 Porsche Cup crown. Broster made his British GT debut at Mondello Park in May with the car, which is tended by ABG Motorsport.Brown will now share the car again in the next British GT races at Oulton Park on 17/18 July. "We've got a break in the Porsche Open dates at the moment, so this was a good chance to join up with Colin for British GT," said Brown. Two weeks after the British GT races, Brown will be back at Oulton Park on 31 July to resume his Open campaign in his 964RSR.
