Darren Law returns Mid-Ohio

Darren Law and Flying Lizard Motorsports Set to Return with ALMS to Mid-Ohio

American Le Mans Series veteran Darren Law and the Flying Lizard Motorsports race team will end a three month break in series action to visit the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course the weekend of June 25th through the 27th.   The ALMS skipped Mid-Ohio in 2003, and many of the teams and drivers are eager to return to the highly technical 13 turn 2.25 mile Lexington, Ohio based racetrack that is rich in racing history. Driving with Flying Lizard Motorsports for 2004 ALMS season, Phoenix based Law will pilot the team's #45 Porsche GT3 RSR with Johannes van Overbeek of San Francisco in the GT category. Team sponsors include ShoreTel, eSilicone, and Brocade, and the team is running Michelin supplied tires in the event.

Law has been happy with the speed that the Flying Lizard team has shown, and has always considered Mid-Ohio to be one of his favorite tracks.  The combination of the two elements has Law optimistic about the upcoming endurance event.

"We were really on the pace at Sebring," remarked Law. "I think we are going to carry that speed into the Mid-Ohio race. I've always thought of Mid-Ohio as a real driver's track, and it's one of my favorite stops on the schedule   The track is very technical, and vehicle set up will be at a premium, so we can take advantage of what the track has to offer. There are supposed to be 13 cars in GT, so the race action should be pretty close."

The ALMS teams will take to the track for the first practice session at 1 pm cst Friday, June 25th with the green flag set to fly for the 2 hour 45 minute American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio endurance event at 1 pm cst on June 27th.
