Rockingham Business Centre opens

Rockingham Motor Racing Circuit celebrated the opening of its newBusiness Centre on June 18 cementing its corporate credentials.

Guests from the local business community attended the launch event andwere treated to a number of lively and educational presentations fromnational business representatives including Graham Brown from theGovernment's Motorsport Unit. Richard Noble OBE, as guest speaker, gave an address on "Innovation, Start-Ups and Communication" - a valuable topic to the attending business community and one that personifies the Rockingham Business Centre. Richard, as many will recall, achieved the FISA World Land Speed Record Trophy in 1983 at the wheel of Thrust 2 and later went on to lead the Thrust SSC Programme which ultimately pushed the World Land Speed Record beyond the sound barrier, in 1997.

Following the presentations, Richard officially declared the Rockingham Business Centre open.

The event, which displayed the variety of excellent facilities on offerat Rockingham was held in conjunction with local development body,Catalyst Corby and the Chamber of Commerce. A number of local businesses and Rockingham partner companies, took exhibition stands at the event.Guided tours of the facility were on offer to attendees.

"These facilities are ideal for all types of business events." saysRockingham's head of marketing Mark Ellwood. "All the facilities arehoused in our state of the art grandstand building, with the amazingrace circuit as a backdrop. Other advantages of our facility here arethe central and easily accessible location, plus plenty of freeparking!"

In addition to Richard Noble and Graham Brown, Alastair Eperon andElliot Harris from Business Champions along with Carl Sanderson of BMW GB shared their expertise of the business world.

Mark Ellwood continues: "We devised a speaker programme which wasdesigned to be of real business value to our guests, whatever their rolein their organisation. We wanted them to leave Rockingham's BusinessCentre, not only impressed with our facilities, but also inspired bywhat they learnt and feeling that their time with us was well spent."

The new facility is designed to offer a professional workingenvironment, with a wide choice of accommodation and services including:

58 private meeting rooms for between 1 and 25 people; the Apollo Suitewhich holds up to 250 guests and the Skyline restaurant which can caterfor 120. The on-site events team will ensure that conferences, meetings,product launches and exhibitions run smoothly.

The jewel in the crown of the new facility is the Welcome Centre. Withan area of over 650 square metres, the dynamic glass-fronted buildingfaces the circuit's start line and includes a reception area andbanqueting and conference facilities capable of accommodating over 350delegates (or in 'party' mode up to  500), making it one of the biggestvenues in East Northamptonshire.
