A major handling problem prevented Jordan Warnock Racing from claiming a podium finish in the sixth round of the FIA GT Championship at Donington Park on Sunday (28 June). A suspected damper failure struck as Mike Jordan and David Warnock were holding third place in N-GT and left them to eventually battle home sixth with an ill-handling car.Jordan had put the John Guest-backed Porsche 911GT3-RS third on the grid for the three-hour event and a great start meant he was keeping pressure on the leading Freisinger cars ahead of him in the early laps.However, a sudden problem with the left rear of the car from mid-way through Jordan’s first stint left his lap-times increasing as he battled with oversteer. “At the start of the race the car was great and I sat there thinking to myself that I could try and keep pace with the Freisinger cars. They weren’t puling away from me and I really thought that we were in for a good result,” said a disappointed Jordan.“But, I came into Redgate on one lap and it broke away from me a little bit. I thought I had gone in a bit too quickly and told myself to settle down, but it did the same thing at the Old Hairpin and I knew that something must be wrong. I think it is the damper that has broken, but until we get back to the workshop and have a look we can't be sure.”“I’m just so disappointed as we had the speed and grid position to score a good result today. Last year when we did the FIA series full time, and we weren’t finishing races, a sixth place would have been great, but I know that we could have done a lot better this weekend,” added Jordan. “With that problem, David didn’t enjoy his stint in the car either. We made it slightly better before my last stint as we stiffened everything up that we could on that corner, but it wasn’t enough, unfortunately.”
