Porsche Michelin Supercup

Wolf Henzler’s winning streak in the Porsche Michelin Supercup series continued with a victory in the French Grand Prix round on July 4. Henzler also won the previous two rounds of the series at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in conjunction with the United States Grand Prix.

Christian Menzel, who finished third in both races in Indianapolis, came home second in the race in France. Walter Lechner Jr. joined them on the podium after finishing third. Andrea Montermini, Jerome Policand and Dirk Werner (who finished second in both Indianapolis events) rounded out the top six.

The Porsche Michelin Supercup series, which has been part of Grand Prix weekends since 1993, features technically identical Porsche GT3 Cup cars. The 3.6-liter, six-cylinder engines develop 390 horsepower, rev to 8,000 rpm and attain speeds faster than 170 mph (270 kph).
