Jordan completes a clean sweep
Sutton Coldfield teenager Andrew Jordan enjoyed the most successful day so far in his motorsport career when he won all three heats and the final of the Junior division of the BTRDA Rallycross Championship at the Lydden circuit on Sunday (11 July).Andrew (15) was able to extend his lead in the overall BTRDA championship with a superb performance in his Mini at the Kent circuit. It is the first time that he has won all four races in a day and the result has taken him closer to clinching the championship title."It went really well," he reported. "I didn't make any mistakes and I just kept pushing hard in each race. That's an important part of the learning curve and I was really pleased to win all four races." Even starting the first heat from the back of the grid didn’t phase Andrew and he quickly battled to the front of the pack. This coming weekend (18 July), the Pembrey circuit near Llanelli represents a new challenge for Andrew who will be racing at the Welsh venue for the first time. He currently lies a superb third in the British Junior Championship and will head to Wales aiming to at least maintain that position. However, with tougher competition than in the BTRDA Championship, it would be a tall order to add another bag of victories to his increasingly impressive tally.
