Jordan claims another podium

Andrew Jordan was on the podium again in round six of the British Junior Rallycross Championship at the Pembrey circuit in South Wales on Sunday (18 July). The 15-year old from Sutton Coldfield raced hard on his first visit to the circuit and ended the day with third place in the all-important final.Heat one proved a dramatic race for Andrew as his Mini was hit by another car and was spun into the tyre wall. However, the race was halted by a red flag and Andrew was able to restart and claimed third place. He then added another third place in the second heat before turning in a tremendous drive in the final heat when he scored one of his most important victories to date. He went head to head with championship leader Joe Powis – and won!In the final, Andrew was soon fighting hard in the battle for third place, but was held up when Johnny Greer spun. Andrew almost had to stop before resuming and, by then, the two leaders were too far ahead to be caught. Nevertheless, another podium in the final was an excellent result and ensures that he retains third place in the championship standings. The junior racers now have a break before the championship resumes for round seven at Lydden Hill (Kent) on Bank Holiday Monday (30 August). Andrew will use that break and the fact this it is now school holidays to work on his car and carry out some more development. As well as many hours in the workshop, he will also try and fit in a test session before the next championship round."I can use the school holidays to work on the car," he confirms. "As well as trying to find a few improvements, it is really good engineering experience for me to spend time working on the car," he added.
