Winner of the inaugural London Rally for Heroes, Gary Le Coadou has confirmed his entry for this year's Aldershot Rally for Heroes in an attempt, along with co-driver Carl Sorensen, to make a Heroes Double!
Royston and Bridge Carey, who like Le Coadou contested the 2013 London Rally, will bring their rapid Renault Clio; when you add in the Subarus of Nigel Seabold, Steve Rockingham, Wug Utting and Paul Kirtly - all proven winners in their own right - it shows that the battle for the victory will be an intense and competitive one.
Over 50 stage miles lie ahead for the crews, and - with the recent news that there will be a free entry to Wales Rally GB for one of the category winners - the organisers are confident that the demand for remaining places will be high.
The Road to Wales campaign has been very successful over the last few years for Britain's round of the World Rally Championship, and the offer of a free entry for Aldershot Rally for Heroes is a sign of the prestige of the Farnborough District & Southern Car Club organised event.
Event Director Rick Smith welcomed past winner Le Coadou and said: "Now we want to see the rest of the crews who contested the 2013 rally, together with any other competitors who thinks they might like a crack at the best UK rally of them all - Wales Rally GB. Entries are still open; we would love to see you in April, so don't delay."
For Simon Taylor, Chairman of the Organising Committee, he feels it is a testament to all involved and said: "It is absolutely terrific to have a new multi-stage event in the south of England, access to great venues, reopened from the past and a absolutely fantastic prize for one of the lucky class winners. To be able to enjoy the rallying, as well as make a significant contribution to Help for Heroes, it is testament to the landowners, the sponsors and the event organising teams. Overall, this event should be billed as the best value in the country this year."
