McRae to Replace Injured Martin

Following a spectacular 170kph crash during last weekend's Rally of Argentina which has ruled Ford World Rally star Markko Martin out of this Sunday's PlayStation®2 Rally Experience at Punchestown, the event organisers have secured Alister McRae as a replacement for the injured Estonian.

McRae, younger brother of former World Rally Champion Colin, will double drive the Sanyo Air Conditioning backed Ford Focus RS WRC 03 of five times Irish Tarmac Rally Champion Austin MacHale.

A former works Hyundai and Mitsubishi WRC driver, the Scot is this year competing in the Production Car World Rally Championship and lies 5th in the standings after securing podium finishes in both Sweden and New Zealand.

The former British Rally Champion joins Peugeot World Rally star Freddy Loix and Ireland's leading rally competitors for the one day international rally sprint which this year features a unique new dual lane start/finish line.

Gates to the PlayStation®2 Rally Experience at Punchestown open at 09:00 with the first of 8 stages set to get underway at 10:30.
