Javier Ibran begins defence of his Spanish GT title

After debuting in the Euro Series by Nova last weekend Ibran approaches another racing event in the Iberian Peninsula with the objective of reclaiming the Spanish GT title achieved in GTL class last year. Ibrán kicks off his season at home at Circuit de Valencia where the first of six events are held.

Mathijs Bakker joins Ibran for the season opener with the Buggy Experience Racing Team at the wheel of the Ginetta G55

Mathijs Bakker is an experienced racer who already knows the Ginetta car and the Buggy Experience Racing Team, they head strong driver line-up for Class 2 in the 2015 Spanish GT championship.

“The Spanish GT championship starts for us at home, in Cheste. It is a true pleasure to race in Valencia, in my home town, and in front of my home crowd. Sharing the Ginetta with Mathijs Bakker, who has joined me at events such as 500 kilometers of Alcañiz or the Belgian BRCC round at Spa-Francorchamps in the past, our target is pushing hard to defend title”, Ibrán comments underlining that they have set another goal for this upcoming weekend “as we want to work on our set-up, because our European debut at Paul Ricard was not that good, and we need to make improvements for future rounds”.

Both Spanish GT races take place with Class 1 cars of the Spanish Endurance Championship, and sees the best Spanish pilots on the starting grid. After two free practice sessions on Saturday morning, GT qualifying session is due to start at 16.35. Races Both 48 min plus one lap races are scheduled on Sunday at 10.10 and 16.10.
