Legendary French Marque with rare and desirable coachworkFull Professional Restoration Well known history and provenanceThe Model – Tracing the history of Talbot-Lago is like following a road map through the Alps. Established in 1902, Talbot followed a wandering path before brothers William and Reginald Rootes acquired the brand in 1934, and enlisted the help of Major Anthony Lago, a veteran of many other automotive concerns in the UK and France. Under his guidance he raised enough cash to get the Talbot factory at Suresnes, France reopened and to put the T120 into production. A main-stay of the marque from 1935 to 1939 when WWII put an end to civilian car production, its styling featured sweeping and sporty lines. Talbot was heavily involved in motorsports, and Lago’s aim was to bring the race car performance to the customer as he was quoted as saying “Performance has true value only is you can bring out the elements of which will help the average driver.” With the T120, that goal was achieved.

The Car – From the first year of production at the Suresnes factory, the outstanding workmanship is reflected in the deep dark blue finish that accents the sweeping lines of the fenders that flow into the body lines. With the engine running quiet and smooth the Pre-selector goes through the gears effortlessly. A full array of Jaeger gauges fill the dashboard including tachometer and Speedometer flanking the smaller meters for fuel, temperature, electrical and oil pressure. With plush pleated dark red leather seats and side panels this car is majestic as it goes down the road, especially with the top in the down position, nearly invisible as it folds neatly behind the passenger compartment. Riding on chrome wire wheels, this “Sport Cabriolet” is ready to be pampered. These cars rarely come to auction, and this is a very unique chance to own one of the most legendary marques in automotive history, one that will be welcomed at the finest automotive gatherings in the world.
