Patrick Lindsey used home track knowledge to best advantage in this afternoon’s qualifying for the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, putting the No.73 Park Place Motorsports GT Daytona Porsche 911 on pole for tomorrow’s Monterey Grand Prix race.
“The track was little slippery, and it took a little finesse, but John Horton and the Park Place crew put together an amazing car,” remarked Lindsey. “Spencer (Pumpelly) and I think this is the best car we’ve ever had here at Laguna Seca. We’ve hit the sweet spot for the car at this time of day, and we feel like we’ve got a really raceable package.”
“I’m really proud of the entire Park Place Motorsports team,” stated Team Engineer John Horton. “The car has been solid throughout the practice sessions and Patrick did a great job of laying down a fantastic lap. While Park Place is based in Dallas, home base is just down the road in Santa Barbara and it’s a thrill to get the team’s first pole and Patrick’s first TUDOR Championship pole at our home track.” stated Team Engineer John Horton.
The Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix can be seen live on FOX Sports 1, Sunday, May 3, at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT.
