this weekend in Barcelona.
The GP2 teams are assembling this weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain for round two of the 2015 GP2 Series.
The first round took place three weeks ago at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain where the results for the Racing Engineering drivers were very promising for their two new drivers, Britain’s Jordan King and the American Alexander Rossi. The Spanish team learnt a lot as both men qualified in the top eight and Alexander and Jordan took 3rd and 4th in Saturday’s Feature Race with Alexander adding another 4th in the Sunday Sprint race.
This will be Jordan’s first GP2 outing at the Spanish Circuit although he has raced here before whilst Alexander has twice finished in the top six in a GP2 car and both men will be amongst the favourites to finish on the podium in the weekend’s two races.
The GP2 cars will use the Pirelli P Zero Orange hard and P Zero Yellow soft tyres this weekend in Barcelona, with a significant performance gap between the two compounds that will reward a good high downforce set up and careful tyre management as the quick corners and abrasive surface of the circuit mean that tyre wear is a very important factor in achieving a good result.
