e dams Renault in the electric atmosphere of Monaco

Formula E has arrived in Europe and its first stopover will be in what could be called the Paradise of Formula 1 - Monaco. For the e.dams-Renault team it’s an especially important rendez-vous, not just for the prestige, but also because it will be a kind of home race as there is no event on the French soil this season!

Alain Prost, 4-time winner of the F1 Grand Prix in the streets of the Principality, gives his expert advice on the challenge awaiting the Formula E drivers: “The circuit is shorter than the one used for Formula 1 as they turn right at Saint Dévote to join up with the track coming out of the tunnel. The tarmac is always in an impeccable state, which will be a change from the circuits used up to now in FE that have often been lined with concrete and have artificial chicanes. It’ll be a real challenge. Pole position will be even more important than elsewhere because overtaking will be very difficult on this layout.”

So now the drivers know what they’re facing, which doesn’t worry Nicolas Prost. The Miami winner, who’s currently third in the championship, has never raced in Monaco: “For me it’s one of the two blue riband events with Miami that really speak to me emotionally so I’ve optimised my preparation for it. I’m going to concentrate 100% to try and qualify on one of the first two rows. That’s the key to a good result here!” Sébastien Buemi has fought his way back into the battle in the drivers’ classification after his pole position and fourth place at Long Beach, so he’s full of beans and delighted to be back in the Principality: “It’s a really incredible stroke of luck to be racing here in Monaco! But I’ll have to adapt as it’ll be very different to what we’ve seen up to now in Formula E. The gaps are tiny and the slightest detail will be very important when it comes to setting up the cars.” Thus the e-dams-Renault team is going to really go for it this weekend with the aim of consolidating or improving its positions in the championship.

Fan Boost

Virgilia Landrain (marketing manager): “The fanboost will be even more important in Monaco than elsewhere for the drivers. And for our supporters too! If Nicolas Prost or Sébastien Buemi, or both, are among the three drivers nominated for the fan boost on Saturday at midday we’ll offer two VIP passes for the Berlin race on 23rd May. One for a person having shared his/her vote with us on Twitter and the same on Facebook. Now’s the moment to boost the e-dams-Renault drivers! Cast the right vote and good luck! And remember that the journey and board and lodging are not included in the prize.”
