Trident GP3 Barcelona Sprint round up

The Trident GP3 team completed the first Sprint Race of the 2015 season at Montmelò this weekend. The clear goal of scoring points was not met, Race 2 provided the team with a good feedback: all three cars entered the top-10, showcasing some good potential.

27 - LUCA GHIOTTO

Italian Luca Ghiotto lined-up in 7th place on the grid  but lost time at the start and that cost him one position. He managed to keep a good pace though and crossed the line in P8.

DRIVER's QUOTE"Unfortunately, at the start I made a mistake as I held back the clutch a little too muck. That cost me a position. I tried to recover it immediately, fighting with the car I had in front, but doing so the front tires quickly wore out and by the end of the race they were done. I'm greatly satisfied with how this weekend went though. Despite being at my first race this season, I got some great results by taking the pole and a podium finish yesterday".

28 - OSCAR TUNJO

Oscar Tunjo, who started from the 16th position, managed to put together a consistent race full of good overtaking manouvers to take the 11th position. In race 2, he confirmed the talent and determination he has once behind the wheel of a racecar.

DRIVER's QUOTE"We improved a lot today. Yesterday I suffered a differential issue that forced me to content with P17 at the end of Race 1. In the Sprint Race though, I was off to a good start. I fought for some laps to improve my position and that took its toll on the tires, but eventually I managed them well until the closing stages".

26 - ARTUR JANOSZ

Artur Janosz also had a positive day. The Polish racer started well from the 15th place. After the first few laps, he found the right chemistry with his car and started to push harder and harder, improving his position. In the end, he took the 12th place behind his team-mate.

DRIVER's QUOTE"At the start of the race I struggled a bit because the car wasn't yet ready yet. But after a few lap I clearly felt its potential and set-up and I started to push, recovering many spots with some good moves. It hasn't been easy but I'm happy I did it. I had lots of fun during this race and I was also able to manage the tires well: I never had to overpush to get what I wanted. Also, I'm very satisfied with the development and improvements made during this weekend and I'm ready for the next round".
