THE British Racing & Sports Car Club (BRSCC) returns to Rockingham next weekend (May 16/17) for the first of its three club meetings at the Northamptonshire circuit this season.
With saloons, sports cars and single-seaters all on duty, the BRSCC always offers a great programme from the British club racing scene and this event will be no different with more than 20 races from nine championships over the two days.
All the action will take place on the International Super Sportscar Long Circuit, except for the two races from the Pickup Truck Championship on the banked oval. However with so much variety on show, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
The space-framed saloon cars from the Avon Tyres Intermarque Championship is the first race of the weekend, while Formula Jedi, powered by a 1000cc high performance motorbike engines, provides the single-seater element.
The Minis are great fun wherever they go and Rockingham is no exception! With both the Mighty Minis and Super Minis scheduled for four races between them there will be no shortage of thrills and spills from one of Britain's best loved Marques.
Out of all the championships in action, the Dunlop TVRs, is probably looking forward to the meeting the most as it will be the first time out this season. Making its first appearance at the circuit as a fully-fledged BRSCC series is the Toyo Tires Honda VTEC Challenge, which will be sharing the grid with the smart cars competing in the 4twoCup.
The Boxsters and 924s of the Toyo Porsche Championship have been regular visitors at Rockingham in recent seasons and always bring a strong entry, while the Excool OSS Championship features some of the fastest racing cars in the UK and will be joined for its first two races by The Irish Globals.
Last but by no means least, Rockingham regulars and a favourite with the home crowd, the Pickup Truck Championship brings its own unique brand of racing to the UK’s only banked Oval Circuit. Qualifying is on Saturday, followed by two 35-lap races on Sunday.
Advance adult tickets are priced at just £10 per day and admission for children aged 15 and under is FREE ensuring families can enjoy some of the best action from the British Club motor racing scene at an affordable price.
As always at Rockingham all tickets include access to a grandstand seat offering panoramic views of the entire circuit, the pit garage roof and race paddock, which means there are no hidden costs. The circuit prides itself on providing access to all motorsport fans, and those who are registered disabled can apply for a complimentary** admission ticket for their carer.
