Motors TV Weekend Highlights 16,17 May

We’re feeling particularly giddy at Motors TV HQ this week. Could be the weather, could be someone’s birthday, but it’s probably the awesome line-up that we’ve got to end your week in style (and the birthday…).

For starters, there’s everyone’s favourite Australian touring car championship, V8 Supercars, which this time comes from Winton. What’s more, you can enjoy a nice, long lie-in this weekend as we’re showing the races delayed-as-live so you don’t have to get up at a crazy hour to catch all the action – and we mean all of it.

The third Super Sprint event of the 2015 campaign marks 30 years since the circuit first hosted the series. I think that justifies a glass of champagne with your breakfast in celebration!

We’ve also got live coverage from round three of the ultra-competitive FIA European Formula 3 Championship, the proving ground for young drivers with dreams of making it to Formula 1. Last time out, rookie Charles Leclerc closed up the drivers’ standings with victory at a rainy Hockenheim. He’s now only five points shy of championship leader Antonio Giovinazzi, but what will happen in Pau? You know where to be to find out!

Sunday brings you the European Le Mans Series from Imola. And yes, that’s live too! This four-hour race is the second of only five events on the ELMS calendar so every championship point counts for each LMP, LMGTE and GTC that lines up on the grid. Victory went to JOTA Sport in 2014 but a lot can happen in four hours!

And all you two-wheeled fans – I know you’re out there – can catch action from the Italian Motorcycle Championship. The next instalment of the series comes from Autodromo Vallelunga where we’ll be bringing you all the races live or delayed-as-live. Who knows, you could be witnessing Italy’s future star of global motorcycle racing – Vale and Dovi better watch their backs!

There’s also a whole host of great British motorsport coming your way with Caterham UK Racing from Donington Park, as well as the competitive Volkswagen Racing Cup from Rockingham.
