Formula E heads to Berlin

Following a tricky outing in Monaco the Mahindra Racing Formula E team now looks ahead to Berlin ePrix as the FIA Formula E Championship descends on Germany for the eighth round of the season with racers Bruno Senna and Karun Chandhok. Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport – just a short distance from the city centre, will host the race. The circuit is likely to provide some fast and frantic action thanks to the 17 corners that are tightly packed into just a 2.5km lap – giving numerous chances for drivers to challenge for position.

Germany is no stranger to motorsport events, the country features countless race tracks and has played host to great championships such as Formula 1 over the years. The FIA Formula E Championship looks set to make its mark on the country, bringing electric car racing directly to the people of the German capital city.

Looking ahead to the event Chandhok said, ‘After Monaco, we’re looking forward to putting the race behind us and focusing on Berlin. Having driven the circuit on the simulator it certainly looks like it’s going to be quite an interesting venue – the number of corners in such a short lap will probably be good fun and I’m sure this in turn should lead to some great racing on Saturday.’

Senna added, ‘The accident in Monaco was a shame for us because we had been quick throughout the day. However these things happen and we just have to pick ourselves up and have a strong race, which we know we are more than capable of. The track should provide a great view of the action given the location within the airport. I’m sure the fans will be in for an exciting day of racing, and we hope to be back on form and fighting right up there with the leaders.’
