The Brit fielded by Koiranen GP ruled from start to flag as he did in Saturdayday’s Race 1 this time though in dry conditions. Aitken managed to hold back from his team-mate Jake Hughes, who started in P2 and ran side by side with the leader. Hughes finally finished on podium after having lost in Race 1 due to electronic problems.
Besides the wheel to wheel duel at the start between the top two drivers the most interesting fight was the one between the other two Koiranen GP drivers for the last step of the podium
The fight ended up at lap 14 when the German Philip Hamprecht made his move on Stefan Riener touching the rival. The Brazilian JD Motorsport driver Thiago Vivacqua took advantage seizing his first ever podium finish in motorsport. Still with the team led by Roberto Cavallari, the Title contender, Matevos Isaakyan was instead forced to retire after ending up wide at Turn 6 al lap 2, after having recovered four places. He will for sure do his best in Race 3 where he will start from pole position.
The Australian Anton De Pasquale (wild card) managed fourth just ahead of Riener while Hamprecht retired.
“Defending the lead was not as easy as in Race 1 - commented Aitken after podium - my team-mate Hughes was very close and I had to be focused till the end. All might change in Race 3 now. We’ll have fun.”
