Motors TV Weekend Highlights 29,31 May

Got much on in the next few days? No? That’s right, because we’ve got yet another action-packed weekend of live action on Motors TV.

In sunny England, we’ve got the fourth instalment of everyone’s favourite national GT championship. Which one?  British GT of course! This time round, there’s even more GT3 and GT4 cars out on track for the blue-riband three-hour Silverstone 500. Following the last outing at Rockingham, Ecurie Ecosse boys Alexander Sims and Marco Attard top the GT3 standings (just), while young guns Ross Gunn (lol) and Jamie Chadwick put on a spectacular performance en route to victory in their Aston Martin Vantage.

We’re starting the weekend early with live coverage of day one (that’s Friday) from the Zandvoort 12 Hours. The confusingly half-distance third round of the 24H Series takes place at the famous grand prix circuit in the dunes of the Dutch North Sea coast. FYI, the race is split up into two parts because it’s too noisy, so you can catch the first three hours on Friday while the remaining nine will be shown on Saturday.

With five-time DTM champ Bernd Schneider and WTCC regular Tom Coronel rumoured to be racing, there’s sure to be a battle amongst the dunes.

Next, we’re flying off to Monza for round four of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship. The lucky so-and-sos get an extra day of testing at the high-speed Italian track so expect to see some seriously close racing as-it-happens with live or delayed-as-live coverage of all three races.

There’s even more live action coming your way in the shape of North America’s most competitive endurance series, the  United SportsCar Championship. We’re heading to Belle Isle Park for round five, which sees three of the four classes compete on the Detroit track. If you ask me, it’s definitely going to be worth a watch.

Your weekend wouldn’t be complete without some two-wheeled action now, would it? We’ve got round eight of MXGP delayed-as-live from the very French-sounding Villars-Sous-Ecot. You’re welcome bike fans.

And there’s more! You can watch all the British GT support races live after the main event. That’s Caterham UK Racing, BRDC Formula 4, Ginetta GT5 Challenge and Volkswagen Racing Cup UK. We’ve also got the Renault Sport Trophy and  TCR International Series delayed-as-live.
