Milner masters the Manx

For the second year in a row, Jonny Milner returned from the Isle of Man victorious after a faultless performance on the Manx International Rally.  After battling with long time adversary Mark Higgins for the first eight stages, Milner romped away from the field in his Team Dynamics and Pirelli backed Subaru Impreza WRC and was never headed until the finish in Douglas.Double British Rally Champion Milner was confident of doing well on the fifth round of the Kwik Fit Pirelli British Rally Championship with Welshman Nicky Beech on the pace notes.  The Dynamic duo suffered a bitterly disappointing retirement on the Jim Clark Memorial Rally when in 2nd position with just two stages to go, and were determined to give it their all on the Manx. With technical support and advice from Prodrive on hand to help Milner maximise his car set up for the notoriously fast and technical Manx roads, it was full steam ahead for the team as they found themselves less than a second behind overnight leader Mark Higgins after the first five stages.  Jonny was delighted with the handling of the car and both he and Beech were confident that they could maintain their steady pace and keep Higgins close to them.  Championship front runner David Higgins was missing from the rally as he was contesting a rally in China, so it was all advantage Milner when the propshaft broke on Higgins' car, costing him around four minutes.Closest challenger to Milner was Austin McHale in terms of Championship points, and Jonny was comfortably pulling away from the field during the second day of the rally as he upped the pace in the striking red Subaru.  Pushing his Pirelli tyres to the limit in the bone dry conditions, Milner was finding all the grip he needed and more as he ended the day with a healthy two minute margin over the front of the field. The third and final day would see Milner coast to the finish as he preserved both the Subaru and his lead in the rally to take a fabulous victory and maximum BRC points in the process.  Ever the showman, Milner delighted the huge crowd at the TT Grandstand finish as he celebrated his win with his customary 'donut' over the flying finish line.`It was a fantastic performance by the whole team, and I must give a lot of credit to Prodrive who helped us refine the car for these unforgiving lanes`, said Jonny.  `Going head to head with Mark Higgins was great fun but we were always prepared to let him go if required.  The only thing that mattered to Nicky and myself was maximum BRC points, so in that case we were genuinely delighted to take the win as well.  Prodrive and Pirelli both made a huge contribution to this result, as they both worked hard to give us the best of everything for the whole event.  The car and the tyres were perfect throughout and everyone in the team worked extremely hard for this result.  We need to sit down with our sponsors now and see if we can raise the budget to complete the year, and complete it in a competitive manner.  I think the battle for the title will go down to the last stage of the last round of the BRC, and I desperately want to make it three titles in three years..`The next round of the series takes Milner and Beech to Northern Ireland for the UIster International Rally. With David Higgins back from the Far East for the event, it will be game on between the pair again as they look to ascert some authority over the championship points table as the season enters its most crucial stages of the year.Milner, Beech and the Team Dynamics Subaru outfit are supported by Team Dynamics, Pirelli, Goldline Bearings Ltd, Sun Diagnostics UK, Ferodo, NGK Spark Plugs, SPARCO, Superflow Exhausts, Elanders Hindson, Green Filters, 76 R Fuels and Competition Car Insurance.
