NEWCASTLE are expecting a tough test on Sunday as Premier League leaders Somerset visit Brough Park. The Diamonds, who lost 39-51 in the reverse fixture recently, will still be without Anton Rosen due to a broken collarbone, whilst the match features a clash of the Worrall brothers as Somerset’s Richie - a former Newcastle rider - goes up against Steve.Diamonds boss Alan Hedley said: “Somerset will be a very tough match but it’s one that we need to win because our home form will form the backbone of our season.“We hope that Anton will be back after this weekend so that will give everyone a boost but before then we all need to pull together and get the points on Sunday.”Meanwhile Glasgow will look to gain further ground on the leaders when they face Scunthorpe at Ashfield.Jason Garrity steps in to guest for the Tigers as Nick Morris is on World Cup duty, whilst former Scorpions rider Richard Hall makes a guest appearance for his old club, who are without Alex Davies and Ryan Douglas after their crashes on Friday.Douglas has suffered what he describes as “a little fracture in one of my vertebrae” as well as concussion, and the duo join No.1 Josh Auty on the sidelines with Ben Barker again in to cover.Glasgow boss Stewart Dickson expects Morris to continue his rapid rise up the sport’s rankings after a blistering season to date.He said: “I think Nick will be a Grand Prix rider by the time he’s 25. Last year was a season where he didn’t really progress, but I think he’s more than making up for that now.”In the City Gearboxes National League, either Eastbourne or Mildenhall could take over at the top of the table depending on Sunday’s results. The Eagles are three points behind leaders Birmingham as they prepare to face ninth-placed Rye House at Arlington.Manager Glenn Martin said: “I am expecting a much tougher challenge from Rye House than the one they posed in the National Trophy last month. They are an improving team and all their boys will have benefited from riding our track before.“Having said that, we certainly have the firepower to take the victory but it’s important we don’t throw points away. If we do, Rye House will push us hard.”Meanwhile Mildenhall visit Stoke, who are looking for their first points of the season - and Potters boss Malcolm Vasey says his side are better than their early results suggest. He said: “I feel we have been unfortunate in our opening fixtures having away meetings at the likes of leaders Birmingham and Eastbourne, two tracks where nobody has won, and King’s Lynn where we were without Lee Payne also, leaving us in what I believe is a false position. “They (Mildenhall) have a couple of riders who don’t know our track and we will need to take advantage of this in the early heats on Sunday. Our lads have been through the mill early on but they are still in good spirits and they are all eager to show what they can do, and hopefully gain our first victory.”The third round of the British Youth Championship takes place at Leicester with a 57-race programme including appearances from FIM 125cc Gold Trophy winner Kyle Bickey, and local youngsters Dan and Joe Thompson who are club mascots for the Lions and Coventry.Leicester promoter David Hemsley said: “The skill level of these young riders is incredibly high right from the youngest through to the 500cc section. The racing is enthralling as they all want to win and of course the added bonus for Lions fans is the fact that the Thompson twins, Dan and Joe, will be battling it out to continue their great form. “With 57 races on Sunday it is going to be a feast of speedway for fans to watch, and like previous years it will flow very quickly with hardly any gaps in between. The meeting is incredibly well organised and it is testimony to the event co-ordinator, Neil Vatcher, who puts so much energy and time into running the British Youth Championship.”

PETERBOROUGH have allowed Adam Roynon to remain on loan at Premier League rivals Redcar for another month.Roynon will now be part of the Bears side until the end of June, but Panthers chief Ged Rathbone stresses the rider also remains in his own plans.Rathbone said: "At this moment in time we can't accommodate Adam in our own line-up, but he very much remains part of the club."We are in almost constant contact with him and I have worked with him during meetings at Redcar on several occasions. Right now the best thing is for Adam to continue riding regularly and getting the time on the bike he needs, but we will continue to monitor the situation very closely.”

RYE House have been hit by the news that Kasper Lykke has suffered a broken collarbone in a crash in Denmark.Lykke is only recently back from a knee injury and now faces time out at a stage where the Rockets are likely to be without Anders Mellgren, who has broken ribs, until June 20.Manager John Sampford said: “Kasper is going to have his collarbone x-rayed at a specialist clinic on Monday in the hope that the break is of the less severe variety and that he can speed up the recovery time with laser treatment.“The worst case is that he will be facing 4-6 weeks out but, as I say, he will be trying to bring that forward if at all possible.”
