Brands date for Porsche speed event

The first sprint for many years at Brands Hatch will form round 13 of the 2004 Michelin Porsche Club Speed Championship and an entry of up to 60 cars is expected. The sprint will run within the Porsche Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend of 29/30 August, and will be dovetailed with a full programme of racing on the Indy circuit. The speed championship will feature two timed runs on Monday after practice on Sunday. With 53 cars now registered for the championship and the prospect of a number of non-championship cars entering, the total entry for the speed event could be as high as 60 cars. The event will be the first time that the Speed Championship has visited Brands Hatch."This is the first time we've had all of the club's motorsport competitors together at one event," says Steve Kevlin of the Porsche Club GB. In total, over 150 Porsches are expected to be in action during the weekend. The Porsche Club GB-organised speed championship is contested by a wide array of Porsches of all ages competing in four classes and many of the cars are driven to the events.
