Milka Duno Currently 4th in Drivers Points Championship

CITGO Racing, at the half-way mark of the 2004 Rolex Sports Car Series, heads to its 7th race of the season – the Mid-Ohio Road Racing  Classic – on August 7, 2004. Teammates Milka Duno and Andy Wallace will  drive the #2 CITGO Pontiac Crawford Daytona Prototype on the 2.258-mile,  15-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

At mid-season Milka is currently 4th in the Driver Point Standings. The team  is 3rd in the Team Point Standings, 1st in Manufacturer Point Standings and  2nd in total Team Laps Led with 355.

“I’ve raced at Mid-Ohio before, but in another series,” said Milka. “This will be my first race on the track in the #2 CITGO Pontiac Crawford Daytona  Prototype. We’ve done some testing at Barber and VIR since our last race and  the team continues to make the car better. Andy is such a pleasure to test  and drive with and is invaluable to me as a teammate. CITGO has provided us  with the support to create and build this program and I simply cannot thank  them enough.  We’ve done some really good work during the first half of the  season that I feel will deliver great results for the balance of the  championship.”

A welcome plus for Milka and Andy and the entire team is that the race will  begin in the cooler temperatures of early evening with a scheduled start at  5:30pm EST. The race will have a 250-miles/111-lap/3-hour time limit.

The Mid-Ohio Road Racing Classic is the 7th race on the 12-race Rolex Sports  Car Series schedule. SPEED Channel will broadcast the race tape-delayed on  Saturday night, August 7 at 8:00pm EST.
