Ferrier takes double podium
Tom Ferrier made a highly impressive debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Knockhill over the weekend (7/8 August). Racing for Team Parker Racing, Ferrier took two podium finishes against tough opposition. The 22-year old former British Karting champion has not raced regularly since 2002, but is now aiming to use the Carrera Cup to continue his career progress. He finished third in both Knockhill races by leading the chase of title contenders Richard Westbrook and Tim Harvey.“It’s good to be on the podium first time out and I hope to be on the podium again at Brands and Donington. It is definitely a positive start – I just need some more time in the car now," said Ferrier.Ferrier will now contest the Carrera Cup races at Brands Hatch (21/22 August) and Donington (25/26 September) as a lead in towards a planned full Carrera Cup campaign in 2005. “He’s acquitted himself well,” said team boss Stuart Parker. “He’s been up there on the pace from the word go this weekend. He should be even stronger at Brands and Donington.”Meanwhile, Chris Cooper, having missed the last three Carrera Cup weekends due to work commitments, is due to rejoin the team for the final three weekends of the season.
