Jani Paasonen, Skoda, has been awarded the Inmarsat Star of the Rally for his committed performance at the Finnish Rally. Nicky  Grist,  former  co-driver  and  head  of  the  panel  of  judges  said:  “Jani  has  shown  a  strong  and competitive performance at his home rally.  He is hungry for a factory drive and has demonstrated this with an excellent drive over the weekend.”

On receiving his award Paasonen said:   “It really is an honour to be named the Inmarsat Star of the Rally.  It has been a very tough event, but it is fantastic to be recognised for my performance against the best in the world.  Having only had a day and half’s testing in this car, this result is great for me."

Martin Muehlmeier, Head of Skoda Motorsport said:  “In testing the car has been performing well and that has continued into the rally as well.  Jani has exceeded our expectations.  I am pleased for him.  He has really earned this result and this award.”
