Wimbledon revs up for action

WITH TWO TITLE RACES ON OPENING NIGHT

Racing fans, starved of high speed, full contact racing action, will be heading for the famous Plough Lane stadium to get their fix of both as the Superstox hit the track to fight it out for the London Championship. The Superstox have been exceptionally entertaining this season and with the London title on the line at a track where they traditionally perform well, the racing action is going to be intense from the second the green flag waves.

More full contact thrills and spills will be provided by the 1300cc Stock Cars as the armoured track warriors contest their British Championship. The Stock Cars are real crowd pleasers at Plough Lane and after the summer break the drivers will be itching to put the front bumpers to good use in pursuit of the British Championship title.

Fans of non contact racing won't be disappointed on opening night as the extremely rapid 2.0 Hot Rods will also be in action. While the contact formula drivers can barge and spin their way through to the front of the pack and accept a heavy meeting with the Wimbledon safety fence as part of the night's racing, the Hot Rod drivers have to rely on pure power and passing skill to get to the front. While a visit to the fence is not relished the drivers certainly do not back off from powering around the circuit with mere inches between their highly expensive machines and the car-shredding safety fence.

The Rookie Rods will supply more non-contact racing. These budget racers are designed to offer the average fan the chance to go racing without breaking the bank account. Evenly matched engine power ensures a very close contest and with a large grid of racers taking to the Plough Lane circuit the racing is always bumper to bumper from start to finish.

With two titles to be decided on the night and the drivers keen to put the pedal to the metal after the Summer break the racing is going to be fast and furious at Wimbledon Stadium, Britain's finest stock car racing circuit.
