The Sierra based Lightning Rods are incredibly quick around Bovingdon, where the cars sheer bulk and power leads to a tight pack of bumper-to-bumper racing throughout the day. The Rods are a non-contact formula so the drivers have to navigate their way around the circuit with just inches between them and the very unforgiving safety fence. This is not racing for the faint hearted and anyone visiting the track on the day will see why these cars have earned the title 'Frightening Rods.'
Contact is the name of the game for the Rookie Bangers a formula that are really at home at Bovingdon, where consistently large grids of cars and amnesia when it comes to the "light contact" rule means a great day's racing is in store for Banger fans.
At the other end of the auto racing scale the blisteringly fast 2.0 Hot Rods will also be in action. The drivers will be contesting the English Championship so fans can expect to see the pedal planted very firmly to the metal as the drivers go all out to be first under the chequered flag and seize the title.
Rounding off a great day's racing action the ground-shaking V8 Stock Cars will also be in action. These big and brutal American V8 powered cars are a sight to behold as they tear around the circuit with the distinctive ear-splitting sound of their V8 engines at full throttle adding to the spectacle.
