Bruno Senna, the nephew of three-times Formula One World Champion Ayrton Senna, will make his motor racing debut in the two Formula BMW UK rounds that will support this weekend, 21-22 August’s Green Flag British Touring Car Championship action at Brands Hatch, Kent.

Senna, aged 20, will race for the Carlin Motorsport team. He also plans to contest the remaining four Formula BMW rounds – at Rockingham, Northamptonshire on 5 September and on BTCC finals day at Donington Park, Leicestershire on 26 September.

He has not raced since he was in karts aged ten and knows he faces a competitive field of drivers. Senna said: “I have never run on these tracks, so it won’t be easy as the other drivers have tested or raced at two of them. But I’m not worried about this. The important thing is to try and qualify in the top ten places and then get used to racing the other drivers.”
