TW Steel DMAX Championship makes second visit to Surrey's premier circuit

111 drivers battle it out with all to play for in closing rounds of 2015

The UK's premier hire-kart Championship paid its second visit of the year to Surrey's top track, Daytona Sandown Park last Sunday (16th August).

111 drivers took to the Grand Prix circuit in in Daytona's 80-mph Rotax Max Evo-powered karts - every competitor eager for points as the 2015 season hurtles towards its final rounds. Across all three weight classes, the top ten drivers qualified within one second of each other and the race lap times were the closest yet since the DMAX Championship's inception back in 2009.

In the Lights Endurance Race, Tom Golding took his second win of the season - the only driver to do so this year in this category. He inherited the podium when Peterson Lim,  who had looked certain to take first, was penalised with a post-race 60 second penalty for overtaking under a yellow. Demoted from the top spot to ninth and blowing his chance of back-to-back wins - Peterson handed the win to a jubilant Golding.

Full reports and tables are available and can be viewed here. In the meantime Daytona Motorsport would like to congratulate the following podium finishers and look forward to seeing all the drivers for round 8 of the 2015 season at Clay Pigeon on 20th September.
