USA Sprints vs FSCA Sprints @ Volusia County Speedway
The Florida Sprint Car Association and the USA Sprints will meet once again in a all out battle of the North against the South for the second leg of the Florida Challenge Series @ Volusia County Speedway this Saturday night August 28th.The first race was at Putnam County Speedway and was Won by USA Sprints Star Bruce "Rocketman" Durden from Jacksonville Florida.Both Organizations will be competing for the overall purse and prestige but will maintain thier individual prospective points.
After the last race at Putnam there is much anticpation in both camps for this newly created rivarlry.This race will be the very first meeting at the Volusia County Speedway for the USA Sprints.The FSCA Sprints Drivers have been competing there for a couple of years now so it should be interesting to see how the USA Sprints can adapt to the big half mile oval.Shane Kriedler 2003 USA Sprints Champion from Jupiter Florida is coming off a great showing at Putnam County where he brought home a very nice 5th place finish after going to the back several times.Gene Lasker from the FSCA ran a very steady race to bring home runner up honors and is also expected to be one of the top guns challenging for the Win.
Andy "Hammer Down" Kelly the USA Sprints point leader and brother David "Skeeter" Kelly missed the first race but are more than ready to do battle against the FSCA's best this time around.Many Fans from North and South Florida are very excited about this new concept of Florida Sprintcar Racing and plan on visiting the very fast Barberville oval to cheer on their favorite drivers.Some of the USA Sprints Stars looking for a Win include Bob "Thunderfoot Schaeffer # 22 from New Castle Colorado,Shawn Namor # 10n from West Palm Beach and Mike "Hollywood" Schroeder from SW Ranches Florida.The FSCA Sprints bring some heavy hitters with Tommy Denton # X and the very fast Lee Scrape # 42 as well as "Young Gun" Tighe Schloss # 8.One thing is for sure that this race will be exciting and its anyones guess as to ends up on top at the end of the 25 laps.
