Jordan resumes challenge

Andrew Jordan will resume his challenge for the British Junior Rallycross Championship at the Lydden circuit in Kent on Bank Holiday Monday (30 August). The 15-year old from Sutton Coldfield is currently lying third in the championship points as he prepares to race his Mini in round seven of the 2004 season. For the Lydden event, Andrew will race under the wing of rallycross legend Will Gollop. As Andrew's father Mike is busy racing in the British GT Championship at Thruxton (Hampshire) over the weekend, Gollop's team will tend Andrew's car for the day. "That's obviously a very good thing for Andrew. Hopefully he'll learn a lot from Will," says Jordan senior. The Lydden event is the start of three big days for the teenager. On Tuesday, Andrew is due at Silverstone to take his ARDS test, the first step towards gaining a full circuit racing licence. Then, on Wednesday he will be in Cumbria for a tour of the M-Sport premises, the home of the Ford World Rally Championship team. After that, Andrew will switch his attention towards the new school term!
