Super Nova had a disappointing qualifying session, having shown good potential in the untimed session earlier on in the day. Can Artam new to the Belgium circuit set his qualifying position 15th on the grid for today's race. Jeffrey seemed back on pace and comfortable with his home circuit in the untimed session. In the qualifying session he did not perform as well as expected. Jeffrey will start 13th on the grid. Once again on Pole is Arden's Italian Liuzzi with his team mate Doornbos on his tail!
Jeffrey Van Hooydonk : (P13)
"Well the car felt good but I never got a clear lap due to the traffic on the track, I thought this a little strange as the track is so wide. It started to rain and I was stuck behind Toccacelo. I came into the pits after one clear lap and we made some changes. I went back out and I took too much of a risk as I thought the track was drying out and went over a wet curb and done a four wheel slide down the circuit. I came back in and replaced the nose".
Can Artam 1: (P15)"It was not too bad a beginning for me and I was running middle of the grid half way through the session. After I had my tyre change the rain just came down and I fell back a little. Hopefully I will be luckier tomorrow!"
Team Manager - David Sears
"The Super Nova team was looking forward to qualifying today with Jeffrey Van Hooydonk on home ground, Jeffrey was easily 5th in the untimed session. However in the opening part of the timed session Jeffrey had one clear lap on new tyres and decided to pit, I think he should of stayed out to avoid the rain as the other drivers set their fastest times then. Can played it safe and positioned himself 15th. It started to rain and Jeffrey had a slide and came back to replace the nose. We are extremely disappointed that Jeffrey didn't qualify better but things can only get better".
