Team Aero in the wars at Thruxton

Aaron Scottand team mate Keith Ahlers were at Thruxton for the penultimate rounds of the British GT Cup Championship.

The recent round at Silverstone forced the team to use another Morgan Aero 8 after a fire, caused by an oil leak, damaged their regular racecar. Due tothe short gap between the Silverstone and Thruxton races the team continuedwith the 2003 spec car whilst the new car was repaired.

Free practice began on Sunday morning and the team set the 8th fastest time, confident that they could make improvements to the cars suspensions settingsand go faster in the afternoon qualifying sessions. However during thequalifying sessions a water leak caused the engine temperature to rise to anabnormally high level and the team were forced to retire the car from theweekends two races as a precaution to prevent any damage to the BMW engine.

Aaron said, "This is a real blow as I know the Thruxton circuit well andthink we could have scored some healthy points for the team. However, I amvery much looking forward to driving my regular race car at Brands Hatch forthe final races of the season and I expect to be at the front in this car. "

The Brands Hatch finale takes place on October 2 & 3rd.
