Capps wins first-ever race in the Skip Barber Formula Cars

NHRA funny car driver took full advantage of the pole positionhe had earned earlier in the day and drove to a near-seven second victory in his first-ever roadrace in the Skip Barber Regional Race Series event Saturday afternoon at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Capps had lost the lead briefly on lap two -- he was outbraked in Turn Seven by secondstarting Mike Distaulo, but grabbed the lead back two turns later -- and following a re-start after a short red-flag period, drove away from Distaulo, who would finish second. Mark Fee, ChrisWeldon and Tom Brown rounded out the top five in the 12 lap race.
