Fuchs Lubricants to sponsor R.A.C. Historic Asphalt Rally Championship

Fuchs Lubricants will be the title sponsor for the new R.A.C. Historic Asphalt Rally Championship, which will be a dedicated asphalt championship for all categories of historic stage rally cars in 2016.The Fuchs Lubricants R.A.C. Historic Asphalt Rally Championship will be organised by the Roger Albert Clark Rally Motor Club and will run in parallel to the Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship. The BHRC will continue to include gravel and asphalt events in 2016.The revised championship will replace the current R.A.C Championship and has been partly devised to offer Category 1 cars a place to continue rallying. Recent changes to event running orders due to the MSA safety review have encouraged many crews to re-consider running Category 1 cars on gravel events. The move also takes account of the growing demand for asphalt rallies for all categories of historic cars. Head of Automotive at Fuchs Lubricants, Russ Kenyon said: “We at Fuchs Lubricants feel both privileged and excited at the prospect of becoming the title sponsor for the 2016 R.A.C. Historic Asphalt Rally Championship, particularly as this is the first time the UK will have a dedicated historic rally championship on asphalt. We would like to offer all the competitors best wishes and much success in what will hopefully be an outstanding championship.”“We’re delighted to welcome Fuchs Lubricants as title sponsor for the new-look R.A.C. Rally Championship,” said championship manager Colin Heppenstall. “We have been very encouraged by the initial response and we believe that the championship will go from strength to strength over the coming years.”Subject to MSA approval, the championship will include an event in Belgium, the Isle of Man Classicagh and the Harry Flatters Rally on Epynt in a five-event, six-round schedule. The full schedule will be announced shortly.
