Villorba Corse International GT Open showdown with rebuilt Ferrari 458

Scuderia Villorba Corse gets back on track with their Ferrari 458 GT3 in the hands of Alessandro Balzan and Nicola Benucci for the 2015 International GT Open showdown.

The seventh, final and decisive double round of the championship is to be held in Barcelona at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from October 30 to November 1 and it comes after the very hard work Italian team had to do to fully repair their #3 supercar from Maranello after Monza race-1 crash occurred during the previous round.

At Montmelò Balzan/Benucci will not be able to fight for the title but the Villorba Corse crew wants to play a starring role among the GT Open protagonists again after being on top for the entire season scoring one win and five podiums out of their eleven races. Seventh GT Open round kicks off with two free practice sessions on Friday.

First qualifying session is scheduled on Saturday at 11h05 while the 70-minute race-1 will start at 15h55. Second qualifying session is on Sunday at 9h40 with 60-minute race-2 at 13h55. Both races will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV) and, live and/or deferred, on several international TV channels, pan-European Motors TV included.

Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal, said: “The whole team wants to end the season with a good performance that would redeem the second part of the championship, where, for different reasons, we have not scored what we expected. To Villorba Corse Montmelò circuit means very special moments and memories. We hope to be competitive during the whole weekend and to focus on future just after it”.
