Red Line Racing secures Carrera Cup team prizeRed Line Racing clinched the team prize within the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in the first race at Snetterton on Sunday (5 September).The Cleveland team, headed by Simon Leonard, needed to score only 20 points at Snetterton to secure the coveted team prize and the £8000 prize that goes to the top team of the season. When Richard Westbrook finished second and Nigel Rice claimed sixth in round 17 of the 20-race championship, the title was won."It is fantastic to win the team prize," says Leonard. "It's what we've worked for all season and all the guys in the team have worked very hard. It’s not just one individual, everyone has worked hard. Now we’ve got to concentrate on the drivers’ title with Richard,” added Leonard.Westbrook, Rice and Jason Young have been the major points scorers for Red Line, as the points from the team's top two drivers in each race are counted towards the team award.While Red Line Racing has settled the coveted title, the battle for the other top places in the team prizes are far from settled. Team RPM, Motorbase Performance, Team VLR and Team Parker Racing are all in the running for second place (worth £5000) and third place which is worth £3500. Those places are likely to only be settled in the final weekend of the season at Donington Park on 25/26 September.
