Stuart Jones, Park Systems Preview
Stuart Jones takes his lead in the Peugeot 206 Super Cup to Scotland for the next round in the series, the Park Systems Furniture Stages 2004 on Saturday 11th September. Jones is currently holds the joint lead in the series following his extremely impressive drive on the Mewla National Rally at the end of August to take his second successive win in the series, finishing fourteen seconds clear of his rivals on the Mid Wales event.The young Welshman's had been over a minute off the pace following some mechanical problems. The win also confirmed him as the fastest man in the series having taken thirty-seven stage wins so far in the Mick Jones Timber Peugeot 206 . The Welshpool driver and his Wolverhampton co-driver, Richard Edwards now head to Newton Stewart in South West Scotland eager to capitalise on their lead and leave their rivals in their dust as the series returns to gravel for the Scottish round."We won on the Mewla despite a few problems, but we also won the previous round in Swansea on gravel. We have been consistently quick all season and now we hope to go forward and keep the lead we have worked so hard to achieve." Jones will have a busy two weeks ahead, contesting the Park Systems Rally and then returning to Wales to prepare for his World Rally Championship debut, when he contests the Wales Rally GB at the wheel of his Proton Satria."It will be good to get a taste of the World Rally Championship on some stages we have already been on this year, but we have our sights set on our Scottish excursion first."
