The last qualifying session of the season, Super Nova had yet another disappointing result.
Belgium Jeffrey Van Hooydonk started the first half with potential but he just couldn't go any quicker so by the end of the forty minutes, Jeffrey had dropped to the unlucky 13th position. Once again new to the Italian circuit Can Artam started off well but in the second half went into the gravel where he managed to get back on track and settled for 16th. Liuzzi starts on pole for tody's race followed by Giammaria in the Astromega car and close behind, Arden's second driver Doornbos.
Jeffrey Van Hooydonk : (P13)
"The car felt good, the balance was ok, a slight lack of grip but still I qualified 13th. It was strange what happened I just couldn't improve my lap time, I was pushing hard and I never made a mistake but still no results. I don't know if anything is wrong, I just could not go faster and I was two seconds of the pace."
Can Artam 1: (P16)"I kept on improving during the first session but in the second half the traffic was bad and I ran into some bad luck! I couldn't improve after that. I didn't know the circuit so I took no risks. Overall I think I did ok. See what happens tomorrow"
Team Manager - David Sears
"Jeffrey started off the first half of the session and he looked to be able to qualify around 7th position but he just didn't go any faster in the second half and with another set of tyres. The team is a little disappointed we expected better results in the last race of the season. It was Can's first time here in Monza and he managed to avoid a high speed course excursion, its difficult when you are unsure of the course but I am hoping both cars will improve in tomorrows race".
