Motors TV Monthly Highlights, April

FIA World Endurance ChampionshipAfter an agonising wait, the pinnacle of sportscar racing – the FIA World Endurance Championship – thunders back to your screens with the first round of the highly anticipated 2016 season, the 6 Hours of Silverstone. The LMP1 combatants went full throttle in their quest to dethrone the dominant Audi outfit last year and, after winning the hallowed Le Mans 24 Hours for the first time in 17 years, Porsche seized the Drivers’ and Teams’ crowns in the final two races. With new challengers in multiple categories and a record-equalling number of entries for the race at La Sarthe, the pecking order up and down the grid could be turned on its head once more. Can’t wait? Better not miss it then.TBC24H Series – 24H Silverstone

FIA World Rally ChampionshipLike your racing rugged and rapid? So do we, and it doesn’t get much more so than at the FIA World Rally Championship’s Rally Argentina. Imagine wrestling a 300hp, gnarly-tyred rocketship across narrow mountain passes, fast-paced river valleys and pitted desert tracks as fast as your somewhat stretched bravery allows. Oh, and don’t forget the pace needed to fend off the most skilled rough terrain racers on the planet. Rally Argentina in a nutshell, folks! Chuck in one seemingly unstoppable Sebastien Ogier and a highly motivated Kris Meeke and you have one hell of a contest on your hands. You’d have to be ‘loco’ to miss this one!Daily highlights Rd 4, Rally Argentina – Saturday 23 April, Sunday 24 April and Monday 25 April at 09:00

FIM MXGPYou’ll be glad to know that rugged and rapid racing are the names of the game in MXGP, too, only with a dash of two-wheeled instability to spice things up even more. Blancpain Endurance SeriesWe’re also jetting off to the aptly named ‘Temple of Speed’, Monza, for the first round of the 2016 Blancpain Endurance Series championship. Last time this cluster of stars in prestige GT cars came together at the 2015 season finale we were treated to a nail-biting contest, with several close title showdowns in the Pro and Am cups keeping us firmly on the edge of our seats. The #19 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan took a sensational victory at Monza last year, but who will take top honours at the Temple this time?LIVE Rd 1, Monza – Sunday 24 April at 13:30

British GTGear yourself up for some quintessential British GT action, folks, as the nation’s favourite sportscar series returns to Brands Hatch this month for round one of the 2016 campaign. It’s not often that you’re treated to a four-way scrap for the Drivers’ title in the very last race but, in rather dramatic fashion, that’s exactly what transpired during the season-closing round at Donington last year. As it was undoubtedly one of the best finales of any series in 2015, we wouldn’t recommend missing out when it all kicks off once again!Highlights Rd 1, Brands Hatch – Saturday 23 April at 17:40
