WORKINGTON have completed their line-up with the signing of 22-year-old Dane Rasmus Jensen in a loan deal from Plymouth.Jensen comes into the Comets’ side as a replacement for Ty Proctor following the Australian’s decision to delay his return to the UK.Club owner Laura Morgan said: “Everyone we have spoken to rates Rasmus very highly. He is also a good friend of Kenneth Hansen, who really thinks that the move to Workington will suit him perfectly, and by having Kenneth and fellow Dane Claus Vissing in our side it will surely help him to settle into his new surroundings.“It is a big relief to finally fill the blank space in our team, and I will admit it has not been easy, but we are delighted with whom we have secured and we all look forward to seeing him in action as a Comet.”

ELITE League champions Poole host rivals Coventry in the first team event of 2016 at Wimborne Road on Wednesday. The two clubs meet in the first leg of the Elite Shield with the return fixture to take place at Brandon on Friday. The Bees travel without their No.1 Krzysztof Kasprzak who is still receiving treatment following his crash at King’s Lynn on Saturday, and they will use the rider-replacement facility – whilst the Pirates hand debuts to Krzysztof Buczkowski, Brady Kurtz and Adam Ellis, and Hans Andersen returns to the club.Poole promoter Matt Ford said: “We have held the Shield since 2014 and this will be our sixth consecutive involvement in the competition. Since the demise of the KO Cup this competition has in my view risen in significance and I am looking to the 2016 Pirates to go out and bring the trophy back.“I am quite excited about the side we have assembled this season and whilst in the past Middlo (Neil Middleditch) and I would have looked at the opening meeting as a chance to go out and blow away the cobwebs, I am hoping that the incentive of retaining the trophy which we have won in the past two seasons will get us over the line against a tough looking Coventry side.”Coventry promoter Mick Horton said: “There’s no pressure on the boys heading down there, this is all about getting laps under their belt at the start of the season.“Four of them will get an extra ride with KK missing, and at this time it makes far more sense for our own riders to take those outings.“KK is having physio and will be back with us on Friday, and we want to have everything dialled-in by then, so we can hopefully start off well at home before the league campaign gets underway.”
