Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus to race the iconic P4 5 C Mk III at the Nurburgring

in the VLN Endurance Championship, together with SCG003C

Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) is preparing for their next race, which will take place at the mystical Nürburgring on Saturday 2 April 2016. The race is the first round of the VLN Endurance Series, and the second race of 2016 for SCG.

The race will last four hours, where the P4/5 C Mk III will debut, and SCG003C Macchinadue will make its comeback. The cars will be numbered 703 and 702 respectively.

P4/5 C Mk III is the 2016 evolution of the P4/5 Competizione M, that raced the Nürburgring 24h in 2012 in the Hybrid cars category. Compared with the 2012 version, the new model has got an updated battery pack, a new electronic control module – developed by SCG partner Podium Engineering – as well as a new engine. The new unit is a 4.300 cc V8 Ferrari derived engine, limited to 480HP by this races Balance of Performance.

The P4/5 C Mk III will race the VLN1 on the gasoline engine only, with the aim of extensively testing the new engine and the chassis.

The drivers in 703 will be Manuel Lauck and Franck Mailleux, while behind the wheel of 702 will be Thomas Mutsch, Jeff Westphal and Andreas Simonsen.

Paolo Garella, Programme Director said: “The Mugello 12H was a big learning curve for us. The team has been working hard to ensure the cars will be reliable for the Nürburgring. This race will be a great indication for our final race of the season, the Nürburgring 24 hours in May, and we’re all looking forward to getting back on the track.”

Thomas Mutsch said: “"Nürburgring is only 70km away from my hometown, so it has always been special to me. And driving a race car like the SCG003C on Nordschleife makes it even better! I´m really looking forward to a great weekend with Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus and can´t wait to drive the green hell without the speed limits again!”

Jeff Westphal said: "This weekend marks the start of the VLN championship, which is our focus for the 2016 season, particularly the 24HR race. There have been some changes to the track in light of last year's events, so I am anxious to see the differences and get back to racing on the most challenging track in the world with our SCG003C."

Franck Mailleux said: "I’m really looking forward to being back on the Nordschleife, and keen to experience the modifications made to the track. It will also be very special to drive the P4/5 C Mk III, which I’m sure will be fantastic.”

Qualifying takes place between 08.30 and 10.00 on Saturday, with the cars lining up on the grid from 11.00 till 11.40. The race will last four hours between 12.00 and 16.00 with the victory ceremony taking place at 18.00.
