LEICESTER have signed Aaron Summers in a doubling-up role – and the Australian will make his debut in Wednesday’s televised Elite League clash with Swindon.Summers, who captains Glasgow in the Premier League, comes in for Polish rider Grzegorz Walasek who failed to score in the Lions’ home defeat by Belle Vue on Saturday.Promoter David Hemsley said: “It was a difficult decision that was not taken lightly. Grzegorz is employed as a heat-leader and as such he has not replicated the form of 2015. “I told him that we still believed in him and if could get his form back we would like to think that he could return to race for us again at some time in the future.“Aaron comes into the side on a 6.82 average following his end of season spell at Swindon where he did exceptionally well, and he has been itching to continue riding in the Elite League this season.”(SPEEDWAY 2)

CRADLEY captain Max Clegg is confident his side can make it two wins out of two when they host Rye House on Tuesday. The Heathens head to back Monmore Green looking to build on their National League season opening 51-39 victory against Belle Vue in a meeting put back by 24 hours due to what proved an accurate weather forecast of rain on Monday.Clegg said: “It’s important we carry on where we left off against Belle Vue and we want to keep an unbeaten run going for as long as we can.“Most of the boys did a brilliant job first meeting and while a few of the team found it tough, they’ll have learnt a lot from it and they’ll be looking to do much better against Rye House I’m sure.“They’ll be up against riders with similar experience against Rye House and this will probably be more of an accurate test for them.”
