Banger team racing at Wimbledon

Spedeworth will bring smiles to the faces of the local scrap metal dealers on Sunday September 26th at 6pm when the National Bangers (1400cc and under) tear each other apart in a six-a-side team meeting. The National Bangers will be supported by the equally fender bending Rookie Bangers, providing a night full of spinouts, rollovers, crashes, and general automotive madness.

Banger team racing always produces some excellent races as the teams attempt to be first under the chequered flag while simultaneously attempting to stop their opponents by wiping out their cars. Automotive mayhem is guaranteed and as the night wears on those whose cars are clearly not going to make it across the line are certain to go out in a blaze of glory by taking some opponents with them. Not much fun for the opposition but great fun for the fans to watch as the cars are turned into smoking heaps of scrap metal around the Plough Lane circuit.

The Rookie Bangers are officially billed as a “light contact” formula, but that does not stop the drivers from getting stuck in with as much gusto as the Nationals. The Rookies are racing as individual drivers on the night, but the bumpers will still be going in at every chance as they attempt to be first over the line and prevent anyone else from getting there by leaving their cars as twisted wrecks on the infield.

Fans of racing that does not involve turning cars into scrap metal will enjoy the non-contact Rookie Rods. The budget formula Rookie Rods are designed to let the average person experience oval racing, without having to sell their house to finance it, and always have a large grid of cars that deliver very close bumper to bumper racing action at Plough Lane.

With all-action Banger team racing, plus the equally manic Rookie Bangers, and the non-contact Rookie Rods, Spedeworth Southern delivers another value for money night out for all the family at Wimbledon Stadium, Britain’s finest stock car racing circuit.
