Darren Law Petit Le Mans Preview

ALMS standout and GT class championship hopeful Darren Law is eager for the start of the AMLS Petit Le Mans, that will be held the weekend of September 23-25 at the 2.45 mile, 12-turn undulating road course that is Road Atlanta  Law of Phoenix, will team with co-driver Johannes van Overbeek of San Francisco, and the entire Flying Lizard team as they take to the race track with the silver and red #45 ShoreTel/eSilicon/Brocade Porsche GT3 RSR for the 1,000 mile endurance contest that marks the eighth of nine rounds in the 2004 ALMS schedule.

Law, who has successfully competed in a wide variety of racecars at Road Atlanta is confident for the upcoming event, but also realizes that there will be stiff competition.

"I've always loved Road Atlanta," remarked Law.  "We should do well there, as Johannes and I have quite a bit of experience at that track.  We've got a bunch of tough teams to go up against though, and we're going to have to be on our game to do well."

The #45 Flying Lizard team comes to Road Atlanta trailing the GT class championship leading #23 Alex Job Porsche by a scant 3 points.

"We knew this season would come down to the wire," said Darren.  "We are going to do our best, and hopefully we can make these last two races work out well for us."

The American Le Mans Series cars will take to the track for a pre race test session starting September 22, at 12:35 pm EST.  The 2004 Petit Le Mans is scheduled to start 12 pm EST on Saturday September 25th, and will run for 1,000 miles or 10 hours, whichever comes first.  Speed Channel will cover the event live starting at 10 am EST.
