F1 Memorabilia auction for CLIC

Exclusive Sporting Memorabilia to be Auctioned in Aid of Children with Cancer

As the 2004 Formula One season draws to a close, a Jordan F1 team employee will be holding an exclusive auction to win a set of F1 Caps signed by every 2004 driver.

Dave Nichols, a welder for Jordan F1, has been approaching teams and drivers all season to support him with his fundraising for the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity, CLIC.

He said: “I have had such tremendous support from all the F1 teams this year and am really pleased to have collected a set of team caps signed by all the drivers who have raced this year.”

“As these caps represent such a valuable set of sporting memorabilia I have decided to auction them on ebay to increase the funds I raise for CLIC”

The sale of these caps represents a once in a lifetime opportunity for all F1 fans, not only can they own a cap signed by racing supremo Michael Schumacher, but top British driver Jenson Button, and fellow Brit David Coulthard, have also added their support to the collection.

In total there are 13 baseball caps representing each team with 24 driver autographs. With many drivers taking up new contracts with different teams for the 2005 season, these caps are sure to go down in sporting history.

This exclusive set of caps will be auctioned on ebay from Friday 1st October for ten days, finishing on Sunday 10th October.  All the proceeds from the sale of these caps will contribute towards the £200,000 CLIC hopes to raise from the 2004 India Cycle Challenge.

During the winter break from F1 racing Dave Nichols, alongside Marie Jordan, wife of Jordan team boss Eddie, will be taking part in a fundraising challenge of a lifetime, cycling across India in support of CLIC.

Each day, in the UK, five families are told their child has cancer or leukaemia. From that moment on, their lives will never be the same again.  CLIC acts as a lifeline keeping families together when the unimaginable happens.

The £200,000 CLIC hope to raise from the India Cycle challenge will help pay for the running costs of two of CLICs seven ‘Homes from Home’ for one year.  CLIC ‘Homes from Home’ allow whole families to stay together, for free, in self-catering accommodation, very close to the hospital.
