Gran Turismo Sport demo at Goodwood Festival of Speed

marks the start of a racing revolution

A special demo version of the highly-anticipated Gran Turismo® Sport game for PlayStation®4 will make a high-profile debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (23-26 June). With the game due on sale on 18 November 2016 in the UK (and on 16 November in the rest of Europe), the expected crowd of over 200,000 automotive enthusiasts provides the perfect setting to showcase the latest developments to the award-winning Gran Turismo series that is revving up on PS4™ for the first time.

Polyphony Digital Inc. and Sony Computer Entertainment are offering visitors to this year’s Volkswagen stand, the chance to be amongst the first in the UK to get hands on with the latest in the award winning Gran Turismo franchise, Gran Turismo Sport, before it speeds onto PS4 later this year. Featuring the Brands Hatch track and a selection of VW cars all recreated in breath-taking detail, this special demo will truly get your pulse racing.

Gran Turismo Sport will also be playable within the prestigious TAG Heuer Drivers Club. Here drivers will be able to take their seat in a custom built PlayStation gaming pod and get access to some of the fastest, most desirable driving machines on the planet and experience the thrill of speed without limitation.

Festival of Speed founder, Lord March, commented, “We are incredibly excited to welcome the Gran Turismo game back to Goodwood for the fourth consecutive year and equally delighted that the Festival of Speed has been chosen as a platform to showcase the very exciting new Gran Turismo Sport game.”

“I have always been a big admirer of the Festival of Speed,” commented Kazunori Yamauchi. “We share a common passion for innovation with so many car manufacturers and we felt Goodwood Festival of Speed provides a fitting location for the UK public to enjoy playing Gran Turismo Sport for the first time.”

As its name suggests Gran Turismo Sport is all about racing and this is highlighted by its pioneering partnership with the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) that will certify two online championships that are part of the game. The Nations Cup and the Manufacturers Fan Cup are expected to be hotly contested and reflect the ever-growing popularity of eSports.
